Another week, another gastronomic route. The last one was about fried cuttlefish and we will continue on the wave of what the sea gives us. This time with seafood. And there’s no better way to eat it than by eating everything you can eat, as it gives you the chance to taste a little of everything, from crabs to shells.
With only these two, we seem to have established the beach and the sea in the middle of the restaurant. A piece of hammered bark from a shoemaker’s foot goes here, sneeze shells there, and a bottle of champagne in the center of the table. – as if symbolizing the surf of the waves in the sea.
What not to be missed here, forgetting the sea and relying on a good Portuguese vein, is toasted bread and butter to dip in Bulhão Pato clam sauce and a few lemon-scented napkins, which we don’t like here. shrimp to oysters we all pull with our hands (and with our mouths, of course).

“The best on the coast at Tennis Clube da Figueira da Foz. View of the river and the sea. Best local.” How about this combination promised by the Forte Santa Catarina restaurant in Figueira da Foz, Coimbra area? Fish and shellfish are specialties, but fame comes from seafood meat dishes that have a bit of everything, such as shrimp, crab and stuffing, shells and mussels.
It costs 50 euros and is enough for three to four people, depending on hunger and cravings: if you’re craving dessert, it’s good for four people, so you might want to save it for those with a sweet tooth.
Seafood rodizio or dishes such as shrimp açorda (20 euros for two) or paella (39.90 euros for a group of up to four people) can also be taken with you.

Despite the name Conversa Fidalga, in Condeixa a Nova, a district of Coimbra, there is more than just talk. It is eaten in large quantities whenever a seafood meat dish is served on the table. In mid-April, the restaurant warned that “temperatures will rise”, so when painting seafood on the grill in the house, “there is nothing better than trying our delicious Rodízio seafood,” read a Facebook post.
The truth is that the heat scenario remains, and to meet the demand, just go to the restaurant to take care of this alley full of the best that the sea has to offer, including the ear music typical of the trumpeters that make up rodizio.

There are three bays with fish and seafood: in Campo Pequeno and Praça do Comercio, in Lisbon and in Cascais. All of them have seafood and they are served in the most famous way: cold cuts. At the Cascais Restaurant, you have the privilege of watching the sea while you taste it, while you can cut into a wide dish well stuffed with things like stuffed crab shells, boiled shrimp, shells, oysters, and Spanish-style mussels. All this for a minimum of two people costs 29.80 euros per person.
You can also order à la carte dishes or choose from a fish platter consisting of fish soup and fish such as turbot and squid (€23.80).

Whenever we are told about Samouko, the comic series “Os Batanetes” comes to mind, about a family that lived near Samouko, who spent 2004-2005 on TVI and some more time on the channel. But we just received a new link: Marisqueira do Samouco.
You can taste great seafood here, just look at the size of what is shown above. The same one, with a shoe rack, wheels and everything else, can cost from €60 for two.

To eat in a restaurant or take home, there are some tempting dishes at A Torre restaurant in Porto Alto, Santarem district. You can order anything from a small mix of crab, Algarve prawns, prawns and seashells from the coast (80 euros for four) to the more expensive and complex A Torre seafood dish, which includes lobster, spider crab, a kilo of witch and a kilo of shrimp Algarve (295 euros for eight people).
If you’re heading to a restaurant while you’re trying to take care of all the seafood, you can leave the kids to play in the mini tower, a space open on the first day of May.
