All the charm of Filha da Lua, in Pipa, RN

Located in a protected area, the Son of the moon is an ecolodge that was born from a Belgian couple’s passion for Brazil. Inga and Frederic D’Ansembourg bought the land now occupied by the hotel, initially thinking of making it a private residence for the family. But the project has grown and they have chosen to create a sustainable property there, with a restaurant focused on healthy eating.

With daily rates from R $ 850.00 per person, the property associated with Serandipians / Traveler Made is overlooking the sea, in a very quiet area away from the hype of the resort and also famous for turtles. You can see many details and all the charm Son of the moon in the feed and in the “Pipa / RN” moments of my instagram @maricampos.

The 17 apartments distributed in nine bungalows on pillars are very spacious, extremely comfortable, romantic and surrounded by greenery. Worth mentioning are the huge, carefully furnished balconies, a pure invitation to leisure. The second-floor bungalows also have outdoor bathrooms, a four-poster bed and a dining area.

Breakfast, served around the pool and overlooking the sea, is one of the attractions of the hotel. Son of the moon. Served à la carte, directly at the guest’s table, it always brings very fresh and tasty products, made to order. And everything without gluten or lactose, including cheese bread, cakes, bread and homemade “cheese”. If the guest wishes, it can be served on the balcony of the apartment, on a whim.

For other meals, an extensive menu ranging from poolside portions to fine local and international cuisine – but always keeping the proposal gluten-free and lactose-free.

Real sustainability in the hospitality industry

All built in a sustainable way, it uses eucalyptus wood reforested in accommodation spaces, which have all been built on pillars, in order to interfere as little as possible with the delicate local geography.

There is use of solar energy, 100% environmentally friendly landfill and hazardous / harmful plastics or cleaning chemicals are strictly prohibited. Buying products from small local producers, the entire menu of the hotel is 100% gluten-free and 100% lactose-free – the first of its kind. It uses only sustainable facilities and is really involved with the local community through various projects, with the commendable Hello Pipa / Hello Barra, which provides free food and teaches English to children, young people and adults in the region. “We want to create a flow of ethical awareness in hospitality,” says Inga.

Also worth mentioning is the PachaMamma Farm, which promotes the organic and regenerative cultivation of herbs, fruits and vegetables through agroforestry and permaculture systems. The food produced there supplies English schools, the hotel and also the Cicchetti Pipa restaurant in the city center.

In addition, some of the tourist experiences offered to guests were developed in partnership with members of local communities, with a focus on the Kitemaster Pipa kitesurfing school.

A partner hotel on the road

Inga and Frederic D’Ansembourg have not only opened their first foray into the hospitality industry there with Filha da Lua, but they have made Pipa their family home for part of the year and are about to open SEMPER VIVO, their second hotel. from the region.

Semper Vivo will have a capacity of twice as many guests as Filha da Lua and will focus more on lifestyle, including different types of accommodation for different guest profiles. “Semper Vivo will focus on a more diverse audience, with international cuisine, being a complement to the hotel scene in Pipa,” explains Inga.

I personally visited the works and Semper Vivo really gets beautiful! With a very different design and proposal from Filha da Lua, but also with a sea view. The opening of the new hotel is scheduled for July 2022.
