Six days of events, meetings, workshops, music and gastronomy in a dream location. “Villa Ormond in Fiore” is an annual event created in 2017 to complement Sanremo’s Corso Fiorito. The 2022 edition is organized by the Villa Ormond Foundation with the collaboration and contributions of the Municipality of Sanremo, the Liguria Region, ANCEF, the Academy of Fine Arts of Sanremo, the Sanremo Flower Market and Unoenergy and will take place on May 14th and 15th.

A weekend of floral exhibitions, thematic exhibitions, educational workshops, plastic arts, theater and music, where the flower and environmental sustainability will be the undisputed protagonists. Admission is free.

From 2022 – explains Livio Emanueli, Director of the Villa Ormond Foundation – The event broadens your horizons to include responsible development and environmental sustainability. By involving various professionals in the sector, the event also opens its doors to a young audience. Didactic animations and moments of experience are the tools with which students of all levels are sensitized. Sustainability, sensuality and a willingness to experiment are the three big terms that make up the red of the event. The audience will be an active part of the event, not only as spectators but also as protagonists, living an experience that will sensitize them. The objective is to involve a wider public in the protection and protection of an exceptional but sensitive environment, aware that every gesture, even the smallest, has an impact and value on the environment and that the only path is the one that leads there a concrete ecological transition“.

The ground floor doors of Villa Ormond open to house the flowers of Sanremo. In collaboration with Mercato dei Fiori and ANCEF, under the artistic direction of floral designers Sabina di Mattia and Jessica Tua, the spaces will host installations dedicated to the history of floriculture on the Riviera and the tradition of the Sanremo Festival bouquet. The local horticultural production is thus highlighted and presented in its maximum splendour. The collaborators of the floral artist Mauro Fiordiluna will also propose an installation dedicated to the wedding, for which Villa Ormond has always been the preferred location. Two exceptional temporary exhibitions will be set up respectively in the Palazzina Pedriali and in the square of the villa: “Bottles in Bloom” by the Czech artist Veronika Richterova, able to bring banal plastic bottles to life and transform them into naturalistic works of art Zero Impact and “Dea Vegetus” by photographer Natalia Mlodzikowska, author of a series of shots celebrating female strength and beauty through colours, flowers and plants. The Floriseum will host photo exhibitions on the theme of flowers.

The artists Mauro Fiordiluna, Marta Laveneziana, Natalia Mlodzikowska and Eleonora Olivieri present their works of dresses with flowers and floral body painting. The park is then populated with actors and extras ready to interact with visitors. The happiest guests can also become part of the work and have the privilege of being dressed and made up directly by the artists of the flower.

Participatory artworks that involve visitor involvement will be created by artists Monica Lerda and Marta Laveneziana with the Academy of Fine Arts and ANCEF.

The lush park of Villa Ormond is enriched with themed floral installations created by the municipalities of the Sanremo basin. An activity that highlights the excellence of the territory while creating a common use. The municipalities of Castellaro, Ceriana, Costarainera, Molini di Triora, Pietrabruna, Riva Ligure, San Lorenzo al Mare and Santo Stefano al Mare have joined the initiative.
CIA and Coldiretti will be present with a Floro food market in Corso Trento Trieste, a seafront promenade bordering the park.
It will be the Young Orchestra Riviera dei Fiori “Free Notes” to accompany the visitor on the way inside the villa. A youth instrumental group, which despite the deadline has already taken many important steps, presents itself to the guests with its own repertoire, both classical and pop.

The Adventures collective will once again return to the lawns of Villa Ormond for two days of music and relaxation. Alex Otta’s trumpet, Chalanga’s saxophone, Luigi Arieta’s drums and the records of the Riviera’s best DJs for a fusion of live music and DJ sets. Under the direction of the multifaceted artist Giorgia Brusco, Hic et Nunc, with the students of the junior drama groups of Sanremo and Imperia, will propose two theatrical performances in the park: “The Wonderful World of Oz” and “Alice in the Land of Flowers”. .
The ad hoc catering offers the possibility of having a picnic in the park by setting up a themed buffet in the villa to match the baskets. Guests can then sit in various equipped areas within the park. Everything in the sense of environmental compatibility and environmental compatibility. In keeping with the theme of the event, the Cafeteria Floriseum also offers cold dishes and aperitifs.

The 2022 edition will be preceded by the series of events “Waiting for Villa Ormond in Fiore”: three days dedicated to innovation in the horticultural sector and flower shows (10, 11, 12 May). The day of May 13 instead provides a focus dedicated to schools.

From Tuesday to Thursday, the Villa hosts the “Sustainable Innovation in Floriculture” conference organized by the Liguria Floriculture District, CREA-OF Sanremo and CERSAA Albenga (for information +39 0184 694829).
