Start continues in Saluzzo with another weekend of arts, crafts and many events, exhibitions, round tables, greedy walks and insights.

The 27th exhibition of contemporary art in Saluzzo opens for the first time until May 22nd in the former Caserma Musso, supported by Paratissima and curated by Francesca Canfora.

About thirty artists are involved, who will interpret the theme of reliving through the most diverse techniques and expressive languages. In addition to the younger up-and-coming talents, the most famous artists with long-standing exhibition careers are exhibiting, including Domenico Borrelli, Carlo Doria, Enrico Iuliano and Walter Visentin, Il Cerchio e le Gocce and Davide “Boosta” Di Leo, who, for the occasion, will fill the spaces of the district with large Repopulating sculptures and installations with an ecological dimension.

Still in the context of the collaboration with Paratissima, the cloister of the Church of San Giovanni hosts Animal Soul by Simone Benedetto to tell how sculpture can enliven and re-inhabit a space, poetically reinterpreting the spirit of a place.

Saturday May 7th will be a particularly intense day: at 2 p.m. the eVISO GO returns from the courtyard of Il Quartiere after two years of forced pause, a greedy walk to discover the treasures of Saluzzo, which will be its third edition reached.

From 15 in corso Piemonte – via Donaudi “The courtyards open to art” with “dolls, porcelain, oils, silk and enamel, the exhibition of Giuliana Risso Rivoira that unites 35 years of creativity in one way and presents it to the public in the beautiful Stadthof. Opening times (Saturday, May 7th and 14th, 3pm – 6pm, Sunday, May 8th and 15th, 2022, 3pm – 6pm).

The personal exhibition “Walking with Nino Parola”, dedicated to the Saluzzo painter 100 years after his birth, opens at 5 p.m. at Villa Belvedere (Via San Bernardino 17). A painter who, starting from French Impressionism, explores metaphysics just as he touches the Surrealists. But above all the color in his painting is light, volume, drawing and line. In 26 selected paintings, a journey through the art of an important painter for the history and cultural life of Saluzzo.

Sunday May 8th Start / Artigianato proposes with Polo del Legno del Monviso and the Diffused District of Commerce in collaboration with the Saluzzo Arreda Consortium and the Artisan Firms Shops & Open Companies | The companies to visit, heads of wood crafts. The Brossasco Wood Museum and the Isasca Wood School open their doors, an open house dedicated to those who work with wood, the supply chain and the people. Start Artigianato is rekindled to make known the realities that practice every day a profession that for the territory is part of its history, a tradition, that of know-how and wood.

Sunday 8 May – 3.30pm The Marquis’s Apples On the occasion of START, the MusaKids Educational Service welcomes children to the impressive Casa Cavassa for a creative activity inspired by the ancient traditions of the region.

An artisanal printing workshop is proposed that will allow participants to experiment with new artistic techniques, using clichés made of simple materials such as rubber and fruits to decorate fabric objects.
