The São Francisco do Sul Film Festival kicks off on Wednesday

The festival will take place in the historic center of São Francisco do Sul, with exhibition activities at Cine Teatro X de Novembro.

The São Francisco do Sul (SC) Film Festival has a free program full of workshops, lectures and screenings of 31 films in nine sessions

The third oldest city in Brazil, São Francisco do Sul (SC) will host next Wednesday (25) the first edition of the Latin American Audiovisual Festival – FALA São Chico, dedicated to documentaries, combining cinema and history.

The four-day program of the festival includes workshops, lectures, musical performances and cultural activities in the Historic Center of São Francisco do Sul, all activities being free.

A total of 31 films from seven countries will be shown, with 26 competing productions and five guest films, divided into nine cinema sessions. Two Competitive Exhibitions are part of FALA 2022, Children and Short Films (composing Curtas Catarinense and Latinos) and the public also chooses the film that will win the Panvision Trophy chosen by the Popular Jury. The Official Jury chooses the best films it takes, in addition to the trophy, products and services from partner companies totaling more than R $ 25,000 in prizes.

The training activities will take place at the São Francisco do Sul Business Association (ACISFS) and at the Ester dos Passos Rosa Cultural Center. To participate, it is necessary to register in advance through the platform www.sympla.com.br/panvision

Film Festival

Documentaries from seven countries are among the 26 films selected for the Festival’s competitive screenings. They will be screened at Cine Teatro X in November. The programs of each film and the indicative rating of each session can be checked at https://falasaochico.com.br/programacao2022.

Guest movies

Five films have been invited to FALA 2022. Four of them are part of the special session Environment, Saturday, 28, and will be broadcast with accessibility functions, subtitles, LIBRARY and audio description: Assum Preto animations, by Bako Machado (PE). ), Por Dentro das Árvores, by Francisco de Paula (SP), Teo, o Menino Azul, by Hygor Amorim (SP) and the fiction Olho Além do Ouvido, by Bruna Schelb Corrêa and Luis Bocchino (MG).

The program ends on Saturday night, with the Awards Ceremony and the screening, at 20:30, of the feature film Diário Dentro da Noite, directed by actor, playwright, producer and painter Chico Diaz.

Training activities

On Thursday, the 26th, the workshops will begin with Almudena Muñoz, PhD in Audiovisual Communication, researcher at the Complutense University of Madrid – Spain, who will address “Research in Documentary”. On Thursday (27), the festival also welcomes the Argentine journalist, production director at Acequia TV de Mendoza, Sérgio Romero, with “Documentary with cell phone”; and the “Audiovisual for Small Entrepreneurs” workshop, held in partnership with SEBRAE, by communication specialist Fê Moreira. Finally, on Saturday (28), the filmmaker and art educator Fabrício Borges talks about “Making films in the school environment”.

Musical performances

Every day, starting at 6:30 p.m., local musicians perform on a cozy stage set in front of the Cine Teatro X de Novembro.

At the opening, on the 25th, Patrícia Menezes and guests Kelwin Grochowicz and Djavan Renato. Thursday (26), Clara Costa and Guest. On Friday (27), Banda sem Vozz is the one performing. And ending on Saturday (28), the Kaiçara Band – Reuel Silva, Piassava MC and Mário Negreth.
